Dr. Cameron Gongwer is the Executive Director of Crosspoint Global Health.  He has passions for medical mission, discipleship, and whole person care.  He is a primary care physician and medical consultant serving in South Bend, Indiana and in Ghana, Africa with the South Bend Clinic and TMS Global, respectively.  He has been working in Ghana since 1995 and lived there full time with his family for 14 years.  Working under the Methodist Church Ghana, Dr. Cameron was the first full time physician and Medical Superintendent in charge of the Methodist Faith Healing Hospital-Ankaase.  Under his leadership the facility grew from a health center to a district referral hospital which now operates solely with national staff under Ghanaian management.  While in Ghana, Dr. Gongwer was involved directly with patient care, administration, community health development and training of medical students and family medicine residents. Dr. Cameron and his wife Anne have one daughter, Caylor.

Dr. Cameron Gongwer is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds a Doctor of Medicine and Master’s in Biochemistry from Indiana University.  He has a Master’s in Public Health degree from the University of Ghana. He earned a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Certificate of Knowledge in Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Dr. Cameron is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Family Physicians and Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.  He is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations and the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
